On March 28, Apple Music Classical will be available

There is no additional subscription needed for the stand-alone streaming app

When Apple bought Primephonic and then shut it down, it claimed to be developing a standalone app for classical music. Up until this point, we didn't know when the new software would be accessible; that was in 2021. Apple Music Classical will be a part of an existing Apple Music subscription starting on March 28th, the firm stated today. Customers on the Apple Music Voice Plan won't be able to use the new app, but those on the individual, student, family, or Apple One plans will have access.

Any iPhones running iOS 15.4 or later will be able to access Apple Music Classical when it first launches. A version of the app for Android is "coming shortly," according to Apple. Almost five million tracks, from recent releases to "celebrated masterpieces," are available in the collection. Apple claims that you will be able to stream recordings in spatial audio at up to 192 kHz/24 bit high-resolution lossless quality. The business adds that "thousands" of exclusive albums make up a section of its classical library.

You can look at written materials including biographies of composers, summaries of important pieces, and "deep-dive guides" in addition to the music. Apple also claims to have redesigned the app's search functionality with classical music inquiries in mind, and the app will now offer over 700 playlists that have been carefully selected. Although the firm has changed the contemporary sans serif font for the major headers and section headings, the app still mostly maintains the same style as the main Apple Music software. With the removal of the Radio shortcut, Apple Music Classical's navigation bar now only has four buttons: Listen Now, Browse, Library, and Search. Last but not least, a treble clef has been added to the app icon in place of the music note.

Apple has made the software available for "pre-order" in the App Store as of right now. When doing so, Apple Music Classical will instantly download on the day of debut provided that Auto Update is checked in your iOS settings
