We're already discussing what to anticipate from Apple's iPhone 15 before the conveyor belts have even completed delivering parts to the appropriate hands. Following the release of the iPhone 14/14 Pro, rumours began to surface, and they have only grown louder and more persistent over time.
What will the iPhone do next? A new charging standard, but a little more of the same. Apple will probably build on what works with the current flagship as the iPhone 14/14 Pro was a strong release. The internal components of the phone, like the camera system and the Apple-built chipset, will likely be upgraded. Even if the buttons on the iPhone 15 might be different from what you're used to, the Dynamic Island is also probably staying. Oh, and start preserving those Lightning cables; if you decide to update later this year, you'll be replacing them with Apple-approved USB-C cords.
The iPhone 15 will come in four models
We still don't know when the new iPhone family will officially launch or if any of the circulating rumours are true. Yet there will be at least four versions to pick from, according to Bloomberg. Apple may classify each model a little differently this year in order to market a new "Ultra" name for its highest end device. According to rumours, the 6.1-inch iPhone 15 will also be available in a 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus model, while the 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro will reportedly also be available in a 6.7-inch "Pro Ultra" model. According to rumours, the Ultra will have a tonne of high-end features, including a titanium-covered casing similar to the Apple Watch Ultra.
Despite Apple's general policy of not sharing memory setups, there might be a RAM difference between the four models. TrendForce, a Taiwanese supply chain monitoring company, claims in a new report that Apple has increased the RAM order for the iPhone 15 Pro. In the Pro/Ultra variant, Apple might increase Memory from 6GB to 8GB. The iPhone 15/Plus will probably continue to use 6GB.
What will the iPhone 15 look like?
Continue to expect the same. For the most part, Apple's design aesthetic hasn't changed over the last few generations. Also, there won't be a notch on any of the iPhone 15 models, which makes sense given that Apple previously included a Dynamic Island in the design of the more expensive iPhone 14s. It will at the very least make use of the many tiny Dynamic Island applications and skills.
Instead of mechanical buttons, the iPhone 15 might have solid-state ones. Like the Home button on the current iPhone SE, each button would act as a little trackpad. The Taptic Engines, which provide haptic feedback when pressing the power and volume buttons, could be included in the iPhone 15. Also, it would help Apple promote the iPhone 15 as being tougher than its predecessors.
The iPhone 15 will have USB-C
The iPhone 15 will include USB-C, and everyone is talking about it. According to EU law, Apple had to implement USB-C on its iPhone series by 2024. Apple complies with this requirement. Since the October decision, there have been numerous leaks suggesting that this is inevitable.
There is a catch, of course, in this circumstance. Also, we've heard that Apple would promote the use of USB-C cables that are part of the MFi programme, which was initially termed that to denote peripherals that were "Made for iPod." The source for 9to5Mac advised that these specific colours might alter once the iPhone 15 enters full production. Yet, the colour options for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series make the pattern clear to see.
A periscope camera for the iPhone 15
Want to improve your photography while having a shaky hand? According to MacRumors, the iPhone 15 Pro Max (or Ultra?) will reportedly feature a back camera with a periscope design. The potential of a periscope lens being added to the larger versions of the iPhone 15 hasn't been mentioned since last summer, when renowned leaker Ming-Chi Kuo suggested that the lesser versions will continue to use a conventional telephoto lens for optical zoom.
Although it also allows you to zoom in even further, the periscope camera system is a little more forgiving of bodily movement and results in less "digital noise" in the finished product. Similar hardware may be found in Samsung's Galaxy S22/S23 Ultra's secondary 10-MP camera lens with 10x magnification, which aids in stabilising distant shots.
Apple’s A17 Bionic Chip is next—right?
The iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Ultra/Pro Max (really, I have no idea what to call it) is expected to have Apple's A17 Bionic. The A16 Bionic still outperforms the most recent Android chips in synthetic benchmarks, so Apple is probably going to concentrate on improving battery life and power efficiency rather than performance.
According to Bloomberg, Apple's first 3nm processor, which went into production right after Christmas of last year, might be found in the iPhone 15 Pro. If this information proves to be true, Apple will have developed 3nm chips before Android's chip designers.
