The press secretary for Biden chuckles at the author's 2024 challenge

Karine Jean-Pierre, the press secretary for the White House, made fun of Democrat Marianne Williamson's unlikely bid for the presidency in 2024 in her dismissive answer.

Jean-Pierre was questioned on Monday by a journalist about whether Williamson, who formally launched her candidature on Saturday, had "annoyed" or "frustrated" President Joe Biden.

Just not tracking that," replied Jean-Pierre. If I had anything like this, I don't know what it's called; a crystal ball, I'll tell you, a magic eight ball, whatever. If I could sense her aura," she added, drawing chuckles. I simply have nothing to say about that.

Jean-Pierre, who normally takes steps to avoid discussing political politics from the White House stage, continued, "My gosh, you people are making me giggle now.

Williamson is the first known Democratic candidate to challenge Biden in the primary; Biden has declared his intention to run for reelection.

Williamson, 70, ran as a Democrat for president in 2020 and advocated for the establishment of a Department of Peace and a Department for Children and Youth. Following her performance in the first Democratic debate, she became the most-Googled candidate, drawing attention to her campaign. Nevertheless, she withdrew from the campaign before the Iowa Caucuses after several months of polling revealed that she was having trouble breaking 1%.

An inquiry for comment was not immediately answered by Williamson's campaign.

Presidents rarely face challenges from within their own party.

Williamson told her fans at her kickoff, "I have run for president previously, I'm not naive. "I'm not naive about the forces; they have no intention of letting anyone into this discourse who doesn't fit their preset goal," the speaker said.

Williamson has criticised Biden's management of the economy, claiming that his choice to highlight its strength revealed a "gap between the analysis of party elites with the suffering of average Americans" in a recent interview with Politico.

Most Americans still struggle to make ends meet, she said.
