Despite Bill Gates' denial that there is any danger, Elon Musk claims that AI is a "very scary technology."

During Tesla's investor day on Wednesday, CEO Elon Musk emphasised his concern about artificial intelligence. He worries that he might have had a role in the quick creation of this potentially disastrous technology.

On a Financial Times podcast yesterday, co-founder of Microsoft Bill Gates was asked about his reservations about "strong AI," to which he said, "It's OK, there's no threat."

Yet in 2019, OpenAI changed from being a purely charitable organisation to a "capped profit" company. But, that same year, billion-dollar investment was made by IT behemoth Microsoft. The software giant hinted that it would invest further billions in the initiative in January.

Musk, however, is not overjoyed about this new information. As a counterweight to Google, he tweeted last month that OpenAI was founded as an open-source, hence the name "Open" AI, nonprofit corporation. However, things ended up being different from what he had in mind.

Gates downplayed concerns about artificial intelligence in his podcast interview. He asserted that everyone was trying to make the AI appear foolish. It takes deliberate provocation to elicit a response from it, so if you simply sit there and make a few small provocation attempts, it's difficult to determine who is to blame. For the following two years, extreme advancements in capability and precision are anticipated.

According to Musk, artificial intelligence has the "potential to be more harmful than nukes" and so needs to be regulated. He told investors on Wednesday that regulatory control of the growth of artificial intelligence (AI) is vital. Ensure that it serves the greater benefit.
