Microsoft states that Bing utilises the new GPT-4 model

Bing search will soon have AI-enhanced lookup capabilities, the two businesses stated in January when they announced their renewed alliance. Little did we know at the time, but for the previous five weeks Bing search has been driven by the even more reliable GPT-4 model, not the then-current state-of-the-art GPT-3.5 model.

Similar to how AOL's early America Online service originally operated, Microsoft sees Bing acting as a sort of gatekeeper to the rest of the internet's content. In fact, Google is doing much the same with Bard. These corporations want to have generative AI systems (Bard and Bing) automatically summarise and present that information without ever leaving the branded search page, rather than sending consumers to other websites where they can obtain the information and context they need on their own. The programme will also designate any extra pertinent background that the user may have discovered via independent investigation. By joining the Bing Preview waitlist, users may test out GPT-4 and get a firsthand look of our new, algorithmically determined reality.
