The Pixel 8 Pro from Google could resemble a rounder Pixel 7

Even though Google hasn't even shown the Pixel 7a, leakers are already speculating about the Pixel 8 series. What OnLeaks and Smartprix claim to be renderings of the Pixel 8 Pro's appearance have been released. It initially seems to be a modest improvement over the Pixel 7 Pro. The primary, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses of the three-lens rear camera array are now combined into a single cutout, and the corners have been softened further to prevent digging into your hand.

Yet, there could be a noticeable functional improvement. Underneath the flash, that back array also appears to include an unidentified sensor. We wouldn't rule out LiDAR or other technologies to enhance augmented reality, portraiture, or low-light images, despite OnLeaks and Smartprix's speculation that it may be a depth or macro sensor.

A lot of information about the Pixel 8 family is still unknown. But, previously discovered hints imply that future camera enhancements could be in the horizon. In December, Kuba Wojciechowski found code that suggested the new phones would employ staggered HDR, or a method that simultaneously collects several exposures. Without using lengthy capture intervals that would cause subject blur, you might achieve an improved dynamic range. Also, a third-generation Tensor chip that might enhance performance and economy will likely be used in the Pixel 8 range.

You could have a quick glance at the Pixel 8 line during I/O on May 10 before its arrival in the early fall if Google follows the example set by last year's preview for the Pixel 7. The new devices should come pre-installed with Android 14. If the rumours are true, this may be a predictable upgrade, but considering the positive response to Google's most recent Pixel launches, you might not mind.
